Sounds like your solution would be to downgrade the driver. I have upgraded, and then my GPU is not recognizable anymore. My GPU device was working perfectly until I got a message from NVIDIA saying that a new version of the driver is available. Hopefully this new OS X will be super easy and native for the 500 series, and full acceleration :). The same issue with driver 8.0.83 on Mac OS 10.12.5 with GTX 1080. I currently have given up trying to install 10.12.5 with my 7700k with rx 580. Besides the Nvidia web driver issue, how are AMD Radeon 480/580 cards holding up Im running a vanilla install of 10.12.3 atm, looking to combo update to 10.12.5, and re-do a RX480 egpu on a nMP/d700/12c for extra resources to handle noise reduction passes in neatvideo for 6K video work.

I can t get the NVIDIA web drivers because the native support for them doesn t support the iMac18,3 and that s what my SMBIOS is set too. :) Replace weeks with months and probably you will be closer. The nVidia web driver 378.05.05.05f02 is not compatible with MacOS Sierra 10.12.5. Please stay tuned for 6 or 9 weeks until I come again with another post
